ISUIKWUATO ROARS FOR KALU: MAMMOTH CROWD STORMS AKARA, BEGS SENATOR TO STAY IN RED CHAMBER.
A mammoth crowd of enthusiastic youths and residents of Isuikwuato Local Government Area on Tuesday trooped out en masse at Akara Junction, declaring their support for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and calling on the former Abia State governor to retain his seat in the Senate.
The gathering, which attracted vibrant young men and women, turned the usually busy junction into a carnival-like atmosphere as supporters sang solidarity songs and expressed appreciation for what they described as Kalu’s contributions to the development of Abia North Senatorial District.
The youths, who hailed Kalu’s representation, appealed to the former Governor to remain in the National Assembly, insisting that his experience, legislative exposure and capacity were needed to sustain what they described as his developmental interventions across the senatorial district.
Addressing the gathering, the youth leader, alongside other residents, pledged to mobilise support for Kalu across their respective polling units.
“We will do everything within our power to ensure that Senator Kalu receives massive support at our polling units. We know what he has done and we want him to continue,” the youth leader said.
The show of support adds to a series of grassroots engagements and political activities across Abia North ahead of the 2027 elections, with Kalu’s supporters expressing confidence in his political prospects.
The former Chief Whip of the 9th Senate has continued to emphasize his commitment to attracting more developmental projects, government programmes and other dividends of democracy to constituents across Abia North and beyond.
Kalu, who currently represents Abia North in the Senate, has also maintained that effective representation requires sustained engagement with constituents and continued efforts to attract opportunities and development to the people.
The Isuikwuato gathering further shows the importance of grassroots mobilisation as political parties and aspirants prepare head of the 2027 general elections.
