Truck crushes three to death on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Three persons have died in an auto crash on Sunday at the Ogere, Ogun State, stretch of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The early morning accident involved a truck marked SMK499XU and a Nissan car with registration number GH598LND.

One person was injured while one of the deceased was still trapped in the wreckage as of the time of this report.

The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Corps Commander Ahmed Umar, attributed the accident to route violation (one-way driving) and excessive speed.

 

Umar commiserated with the family of the victims and cautioned motorists against violating traffic rules and regulations because of the dangers involved.

He said the injured was taken to Victory Hospital Ogere for medical attention, two corpses were deposited at FOS morgue while efforts were ongoing to remove the deceased trapped in the mangled car.

 

He enjoined the family of victims to contact FRSC Ogere for more information about the crash.
